How It Works

STEP 01

Prepare the drawings and building regulations for approval by the client. Provide the clients with a project start date.
Erect secure scaffolding around the house.
Remove hip and rear sloping roof in readiness for Gable and Rear Dormer.
Install new steel R.S.J Beams to support Rear Dormer and new floor in loft.
Build rear and gable dormers or gable wall and waterproof dormer roof.

STEP 02

Roofing works to dormer and brickwork to gable.
Fix new floor joists into previous fix R.S.J Steels, 1st fix plumbing and electrics into new floor.
Install new staircase.
Insulate floors, walls and dormer roof.
Fix new UPVC windows in loft bedroom and en-suite.

STEP 03

Remove scaffolding from around the house.
Plasterboard loft area and prepare for plastering works. Plaster skimming to all walls and ceilings.

STEP 04

Tile en-suite floor and walls.
2nd fix electrical and plumbing.
All joinery works including skirting, architraves, doors, cupboards, wardrobes, and staircase work handrails and spindles.

STEP 05

Building inspector to issue completion certificates for the building works and electrical.
Leave job clean and tidy, hand over work ready for carpet and decorations.
On time, on budget and to the complete satisfaction of the client.

I approached Aztech for a loft conversion quote and they came promptly and quoted quickly. Their quote was the lowest but, unfortunately, they were in great demand and it would be 6 months before they could begin. That's the only reason we didn't book them. 2024 UPDATE. We contacted them again because our chosen builder cancelled. Aztech requoted and agreed to take on the job. Again, due to their commitments, we had to wait several months but they started the work in June 2022. It soon emerged that our architect had made a serious miscalculation which made the job significantly bigger. Aztech gave a fair quote for the extra work but had to complete the job over several months rather than several weeks. They did a great job, though. They employed skilled and pleasant joiners, plumbers, electricians and roofers. Since completion, they've come back to fix a problem with a couple of roof slates under warranty. We'd employ them again.

Absolutely delighted with the result of the loft conversion & 1st floor bedroom-to-ensuite conversion which was done by Aztech. Ross and his team were a pleasure to have working in our home. They all have a (rare!) can-do attitude and put our needs/wants foremost. They were tidy, polite, quite and hardworking. They accomodated and recommended changes along the way which improved the overall build and took on the extra work we offered. My 2 children have been living in our loft conversion for just under a year. I can honestly say it is the best money we have ever spent. Ross and the team were great throughout. Everyone came exactly when they said they were coming. Using Aztech completely took away the stress that usually comes with any building work. I have had 2 very small issues in the past year and Ross has sent someone to fix them within 2 days. My only regret is not doing it sooner. We have 2 fantastic bedrooms and a full bathroom up there - perfect for teenagers. I was really worried that the loft would be too hot in summer and cold in winter but it is exactly the same as the rest of the house, in fact through summer it was the coolest place in the house. Ross and the Aztech team did a great job on our dormer loft in summer 2022. We added an additional bathroom and reconfigured the first floor to create a study. The bedroom in the dormer has bespoke storage. Our property is small, but the design has made great use of available space. The work was completed in good time with only a couple of minor delays. We have been very happy with the finish and quality of everything and most people coming into the house comment very positively (including other tradespeople). The team were very professional with clean up after every day and were tried to disturb us minimally while we worked from home. They were also happy to discuss the work and answer questions and make helpful suggestions. Ross had regular catch up calls and visited at key stages of the project to talk things through. Minimal snagging (some is to be expected) and problems corrected without fuss. Friends have also used Aztech and had good experiences and I have recommended them to colleagues looking for similar work.

Aztech loft rooms completely gutted our attic which had not been touched for 170 years! They removed loads of debris, rubble, tanks, wood, metal etc and then boarded the whole loft and added 3 velux windows, a new door to the roof and a new trap access door. They worked tirelessly and were polite and nothing was too much trouble. I strongly recommend them and will be using them again.
